THE GOOD:
nice translation of Phoenix emergence from comics-to-film (Shi'ar story arc was implausible for film)
Xavier's sub-par ethics in 3 laid foundation for the "onslaught" storyline
Beast was well-cast
FINALLY Storm gets to fly
Angel's wings were GORGEOUS
THE BAD:
not enough character development
not enough Rogue/Bobby/Kitty triangle
not enough Jean/Phoenix
Storm (NOT Wolverine) should have been barking orders at the Alcatraz battle
after the great lengths Magneto and Mystique go to for eachother in the last 2 films, I think he wrote her off far too easily/quickly when she was cured in 3
should've used Moira more; she IS a genetic scientist
THE UGLY:
Halle Berry had WAY too much DIVA input into Storm's character
Phoenix has cosmic FIRE, not cosmic WATER!
should've used Leech or Rogue to weaken Phoenix so Wolverine could attack her
not enough Rogue's conflict re the Cure |

Does anyone remember when Saturday morning cartoons didn’t suck? What happened to shit like Batman, Dungeons & Dragons, X-MEN, Looney Tunes, the Tick, Ducktales and related Disney spin-offs, Captain Planet, He-Man, the *good* Transformers, shit like that. You could turn to damn near any channel on basic cable between the hours of 7 and 11 a.m. and there was some funny shit going on. Nowadays, IF there’s anything animated even on television anymore, it’s Pokemon or Digimon or Fuckumon. Lameass shit. |
